An island is more than IOTA / Eine Insel ist mehr als IOTA (Engl.)

There is a lot more than one IOTA reference to discover and activate on an island. Usually there are other XOTA (X-any On The Air) references available on the island, e.g. SOTA, POTA, COTA, LOTA, etc. This means you can take part in an outdoor radio triathlon and earn a nice award, as an activator, a chaser, or both. The infrastructure is there, hundreds of awards are issued every year, and there are a lot of great activation reports from one holiday island or another. Anyone can take part in the outdoor radio triathlon from an island as they please with little effort. Even with QRP a mini pile-up is inevitable! // Auf einer Insel gibt es viel mehr als eine IOTA-Referenz zu entdecken und zu aktivieren. Normalerweise sind auf der Insel weitere XOTA-Referenzen (X-any On The Air) verfügbar, z. SOTA, POTA, COTA, LOTA usw. Das bedeutet, dass man an einem Outdoor-Amateurfunk-Triathlon teilnehmen und eine schöne einzigartige Auszeichnung verdienen kann, als Aktivierer, Jäger oder beides. Die Infrastruktur ist vorhanden, jedes Jahr werden Hunderte Awards verliehen und es gibt viele tolle Aktivierungsberichte von der einen oder anderen Urlaubsinsel. Jeder kann mit wenig Aufwand von einer Insel aus nach Lust und Laune am Triathlon teilnehmen. Selbst mit QRP ist ein Mini-Pile-Up unvermeidlich!
